Roads
The M1 motorway runs north along the eastern boundary of Amber Valley and the borough can easily be accessed from the M1 Junction 26 or Junction 28.
The A38 runs south from the M1 Junction 28 through the center of Amber Valley down to the city of Derby and is duel carriageway all through the borough. The towns of Alfreton & Ripley border the A38 and can easily be accessed from it.
The A610 runs from the M1 Junction 26 north west towards Matlock and passes through Codnor & Ripley and provides easy access to the town of Heanor. The A6 runs north from Derby towards Matlock and passes through the town of Belper.
