Ripley salon celebrates 40 years in the town
The team at KH Hair Ripley is celebrating as the salon reaches a 40 year milestone in the town.
The salon opened in Grosvenor Road in 1984, moving a few doors down to larger premises in 2002. Following expansion in 2007, the salon underwent a further re-fit in 2014 and has just undergone a celebratory spruce up within the last month.
Salon director, Sarah Storer, has worked at KH Hair since leaving school in 1986. She now leads a 13-strong team which has built up an enviable reputation in the town for delivering first-class customer service.
Having seen a great many changes over the last 40 years, Sarah says she is proud to have kept the business going through various challenges including recession and the Covid pandemic. “We are really passionate about continual development for all staff at KH Hair." she says. "I think that's one of the reasons our clients have stayed with us. We have seen many businesses come and go in Ripley so we are proud that our hard-working teams – past and present - and our loyal clients, have placed us among the longest-serving salons in KH Hair Group’s 104 year history.”
Earlier this year, the salon picked up a hat trick of trophies at the KH Hair’s annual award ceremony where the team collected the Salon Service Award (for the third year running) and the Salon Retail Improvement Award (sponsored by Sebastian). 1st Year apprentice, Ellie Copeland, was the winner of her year’s training competition. During the evening, longest-serving team member, Beth, was als recognised for reaching her 30th year with the Group.
Darren Messias, managing director of the KH Hair Group comments: “We are so proud of Sarah and all of the team for reaching 40 years in business. Sustaining any business for this length of time is a fantastic achievement, but to continually provide excellent service and maintain those high standards is something to be celebrated and applauded. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal and supportive clients and, of course, our teams past and present, as we wouldn’t be here without you.”
"I am so lucky to be a part of the KH Hair family,” adds Sarah. “I’d like to thank everyone at head office, including Darren, the amazing training team and all the brilliant office staff for their help and support over the years. “I think, if you cut me open, I would have KH Hair running right through the middle of me.
“I would also like to say a massive thank you, both to my team and to our wonderful clients, many who have become great friends over the last four decades. We couldn’t have done it without you. Here’s to the next 40 years!”
