The choir’s next concert is to take place at Wood Street Methodist Church, Ripley, DE5 3DD on Saturday 21 October 2023 at 7:30 p.m. where all proceeds raised will benefit the churches building fund, with expensive electric doors recently needing replacing. This concert is sponsored by Clarkes Department Store of Belper.
Tickets for this concert are just £6.00 and available from the church, or Frank Kenny of the choir on 01773 – 748127. Tickets can also be purchased on the door on the evening of the concert. Light refreshments will also be available during the intermission and raffle.
The choir have already been on tour this year to the Lake District performing in two concerts at Shap and Appleby Churches and also taken part in a major festival of male voice singing at Derby Cathedral, so why not come along and enjoy a full concert of varied songs and choral classics.
Most of the choirs’ concerts take place locally in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire; frequently helping raise funds for charities and worthy causes. Whether singing at prestigious venues with large audiences or to small groups of individuals in any setting, the choir aim to achieve high level of performance and entertainment and have a number of talented soloists.
Why not join the choir and start a new activity? It could not be easier. It’s fun, good for your health and wellbeing, and you will make new friends and put a smile on your face as you blend your voice with others. Whether you are experienced, or a non-experienced singer of any age, you will be made to feel equally welcome and given every help and assistance. Every type of male voice is needed, especially bass (low voices) and tenors (high voices).
The choir practice at the Dale Club, Jacksdale, every Monday evening at 7.30 p.m., other than Bank Holiday weeks. Why not come along and give it a go? You have nothing to lose, but a great deal to gain.
