Pye Hill & District Male Voice Choir FREE Concert at the Dale Club, Jacksdale
The Pye Hill & District Male Voice Choir is celebrating its 120th Anniversary this year, having been formed way back in 1903, which is remarkable achievement.
During its long history, the choir have been based at the Dale Club (formerly Jacksdale Miners Welfare) for almost all its existence, where it rehearses weekly.
As a thank you to its hosts, the Pye Hill and District Male Voice Choir will be appearing in concert at the ‘Dale Suite’, Dale Club, Jacksdale, NG16 5HR, on Saturday 9th September 2023 at 7.30 p.m. Entry is FREE. Make a date in your diary and come along with family and friends for a great night’s entertainment.
Most of the choirs’ concerts take place locally in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire; frequently helping raise funds for charities and worthy causes. Highlights of this year, so far, include a tour to the Lake District, performing in two concerts at Shap and Appleby Churches. The choir also took part in a festival of male voice choir singing held at Derby Cathedral, with five other choirs. Whether singing at prestigious venues with large audiences or to small groups of individuals in any setting, the choir aim to achieve high level of performance and entertainment and have a number of soloists.
Why not join the choir and start a new activity? It could not be easier. It’s fun, good for your health and wellbeing, and you will make new friends and put a smile on your face as you blend your voice with others. Whether you are experienced, or a non-experienced singer of any age, you will be made to feel equally welcome and given every help and assistance. Every type of male voice is needed, especially bass (low voices) and tenors (high voices).
The choir practice at the Dale Club, Jacksdale, every Monday evening at 7.30 p.m., other than Bank Holiday weeks. Why not come along and give it a go? You have nothing to lose, but a great deal to gain.
