Farming and conservation co-exist
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust has a unique project at its Woodside Reserve near to Ilkeston in the south of the county. Here farming and conservation co-exist, proving that the two things can work together to create a vibrant and rich living landscape. Rare native breeds, Highland cattle and Jacob sheep, graze our herb rich pastures, growing slowly to produce fantastic tasting meat.
Meat is sold through a box scheme and is available from November though the winter. As the animals are allowed to grow naturally they cannot be produced ‘to order’ and therefore we have a waiting list. Last year we sold out quickly so book your box today.
