The Poacher is a popular pub both in the afternoons and in the evenings with a large cask ale following. The town is bustling with bars, pubs and restaurants all offering cask ale. The popularity of cask ale in Ilkeston has meant that The Poacher, with it's prime location has had to be on top of the trends. Hosting local micro breweries such as Castle Rock, Blue Monkey and Dancing Duck, the pub balances it's quirky offering with national favourites such as London Pride, Black Sheep and Spitfire.
The bar copes with such an eclectic mix of customer that it stocks a wide range of bottled ciders and beers, draught lagers and beers and a modern range of spirits including spiced rum and flavoured vodkas.
The pub is separated into two small rooms with a third room raised at the back. A comfortable and relaxed atmosphere during the daytime transforms into a more lively and energetic atmosphere at the weekends.
