I am a female registered Osteopath providing treatment to Belper and surrounding areas such as Ashbourne, Fenny Bentley, Mayfield, Kniveton, Blore, Thorpe, Tissington, Wirksworth, Bonsall, Brassington, Bradbourne, Carsington, Hopton, Cromford, Hognaston, Idridgehay, Matlock, Belper, Turnditch, Hulland Ward, Amber valley, Alfreton, Heanor and Ripley. Home visits may be available upon request.
I've always been interested in the human body, manual therapies and in helping people, leading me to train as an Osteopath. I studied for 5 years part time and graduated from Oxford Brookes University, and am now registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and the British Osteopathic Association (BOA).
5 Dangerous Words... Maybe it Will Go Away!
If you are suffering at the moment and are unsure what to do about it, or if indeed anything can be done, treatment by an Osteopath might be the answer! Sometimes pain doesn't always go away and can make your life difficult. You may think that it's "one of those things" or "your age" and that "maybe it will go away". I see a lot of patients who seem to accept that their problem is now part of their life. It doesn't have to be! The sooner you are treated the quicker the problem will be resolved.
What conditions can Osteopathy help?
It doesn't just help back pain! Osteopathy can help many issues to do with the body. The most common conditions treated are:-
Aches and pains
Arthritic pain
Backache
Back pain
Circulatory problems
Cramp
Digestion problems
Fibromyalgia
Frozen shoulder/ shoulder and elbow pain/ tennis elbow arising from associated musculoskeletal conditions of the back and neck
Headache, arising from the neck
Inability to relax
Joint pains
Joint pains including hip and knee from Osteoarthritis (OA)
Lumbago
Migraine prevention
Muscle spasm
Neck ache
Neck pain not after trauma/injury
Neuralgia
Rheumatic pain
Sciatica
Sports injuries, minor and tension
My aim is to get you better and feeling 'yourself' again as quickly as possible. I might also get you involved in the healing process by giving you stretches if I think that they will help. This hopefully cuts down on treatment time and therefore saves you money long term!
