Carr Wood comprises of nearly 4 hectares of mixed woodland and uinmproved grassland, its proximity to Ripley town centre give it addd value both as a haven for wildlife and as a place for local people to enjoy. Since the 1920's it has largely been left to naturally regenerate and the result today is a mixed and varied woodland that is home to wide range of native flora.

Carr Wood lies to the north east of Ripley Town Centre between Bridle Lane and the A610 bypass. The easiest access is from the bottom of Outram Street.
