Aldercar & Langley MIll Parish Council provides the following to the benefit of the local community:-
Partner in Aldercar & Langley MIll Children's Activities which provides sports and arts and crafts activities for young people between the ages of 7 and 15 years old including a free lunch. The events are provided during the school holidays (each Wednesday) under the supervision of qualified coaches, supported by Derbyshire Constabulary. The Parish Council staff are appointed to raise funds to maintain the events.
Football Events. Young people are also supported with provision of football coaching on a Wednesday evening at Aldercar Community Language College between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. with qualified coaches provided through Sporting Futures.
Parish Trips. Regular parish trips are organised to locations such as London, Chatsworth House, York, Highgrove (following invitiation after three year waiting list), ~Whitby etc. The cost to parishioners is calculated at a no profit basis. A regular mailing list is available at the Council office should you wish to include your name.
Parish Walks. Regular walks undertaken in and around the area of Aldercar & Langley MIll and trips out to other outlying areas including Papplewick, Moorgreen, South Wingfield. Please add your name to the mailing list for particulars.
Floral Displays provided by the Parish Council during the summer periods
Festive Display provided by the Parish Council with some financial support from local businesses. In 2012 the Parish Council was one of the first Councils in Amber Valley to convert to solar festive lighting which has proved very popular and successful.
Footpaths. The Parish Council is in partnership with the Derbyshire County Council 3P to maintain the footpaths for access within the parish - an area of approximately 18 miles of paths exist up to Codnor Castle.
Allotments. A waiting list is available for parishioners to place their name on for allotment gardens at both Cromford Road and Aldercar Lane sites.
The Parish Council welcomes members of the public to attend Council meetings which take place every fourth Thursday of the month excluding August and December. The meetings commence at 6.30 p.m. with 30 minutes for public participation. The venue is Neal Court Community Room, Andrews Drive, Langley MIll, Derbyshire.
